Helldivers 2 Patch Notes, Patch 01.000.200

Helldivers 2 exploded onto the gaming scene and the community has fully embraced the game. The game launched with some glitches and issues, mainly with games crashing and connectivity. This made for a rough start for many players, especially on PC. Luckily, developer Arrowhead Game Studios is hard at work patching and fixing things as quickly as possible. Patch 01.000.200 brings many new fixes and balance changes to Helldivers 2. From adding more planetary hazards and weapon adjustments to crash fixes, there’s plenty to look forward to in the new patch. Below are the full patch notes for Helldivers 2 Patch 01.000.200.

  • Join the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom in a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic and furious third-person shooter.
  • Become a Legend – You will be formed into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions. Look out for each other: Friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.
  • Equipment – ​​Let freedom rain down from above, sneak through enemy territory, or grit your teeth and charge headfirst into the jaws of battle. How you deliver freedom is your choice; you’ll have access to a wide range of explosive firepower, life-saving armor and battle-changing stratagems… the jewel in every Helldiver’s arsenal.
  • Requisition – Super Earth recognizes your hard work with Valuable Requisition. Use it to access various rewards that benefit you, your team, your destroyer ship, and our overall war effort.
  • Threats – Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with. Each enemy has different and unpredictable characteristics, tactics and behavior, but they all fight fiercely and without fear or morality.

Patch 01.000.200 focuses on mission and weapon balance changes, adding more planetary hazards, improved armor effects, and more. Below you will find the full patch notes for Helldivers 2 patch 01.000.200.


This update includes:

  • Balance changes in missions, strategies, weapons, enemies and Helldivers.
  • General fixes and stability improvements.


Planetary Hazard Additions:

Increased level limit

  • The level cap has been increased from 50 to 150

Pick up essential personnel

  • Enemy spawn points have been moved further away from the objective to give players a fairer chance to defend the location.
  • Fewer civilians are needed to complete the mission on higher difficulties.

Destroy command bunkers

  • Now has more objective locations, the mission was previously too easy compared to other missions.
  • It can now appear in operations starting at difficulty 5.
  • Halved the negative effect of edit modifiers that increase the cooldowns of list or call-in times.

Primary, secondary and support weapons

  • Arc Thrower: resolved loading inconsistencies; it now always takes 1 second to charge a shot.
  • Arc Thrower: Reduced distance from 50m to 35m.
  • Arc Thrower: Increased stagger power.
  • Watchdog: Now restores full ammo from supply boxes.
  • Anti-Material Rifle: Damage increased by 30%.
  • Breaker Incendiary: damage per bullet increased from 15 per bullet to 20 per bullet.
  • Fire damage per tick increased by 50% (from all sources).
  • Liberator Penetrator: Now has a fully automatic mode.
  • Dominator: Increased damage from 200 to 300.
  • Dominator: Increased stagger.
  • Diligence Counter Sniper: Increased armor penetration from light to medium.
  • Slugger: Reduced wobble.
  • Slugger: Damage reduced from 280 to 250.
  • Slugger: Reduced demolition power.
  • Slugger: Fixed armor penetration tag in the menu.
  • Slugger, Liberator Concussive, Senator: Fixed incorrect armor penetration tags in the menu.
  • Recoilless Rifle: Increase the number of missiles you recover from supply boxes from 2 to 3.
  • Spear: Increase the number of missiles you recover from supply boxes from 1 to 2.
  • Heavy Machine Gun: Reduced the highest rate of fire mode from 1200 rpm to a more moderate 950.


  • Patriot Exosuit: Missiles now only penetrate armor on a direct hit.


  • Balance sheet adjustments have been made
  • Chargers’ normal melee attack now does less damage against Exosuits.
  • Bile Spewer and Nursing Spewer do less damage with their vomit.
  • The Bile Titan can no longer be stunned.
  • Shriekers no longer create bug breaches.
  • Shriekers that hit you while dead now deal significantly less damage.


Balance sheet adjustments have been made in:

  • Heavy and medium armor protects better and you now take about 10% less damage than before when wearing heavy armor, and about 5% less when wearing medium armor. Reinforced commandos and light armor are unchanged.


  • Fixed an issue where PS5 save settings were reset when the game was restarted, causing things like gear and hint settings to be reset.
  • Enemies now properly target Exosuits. Previously, many enemies would effectively ignore Exosuits if there was a hero diver on foot available to target.
  • Fixed Exosuits being able to fire their weapons while opening the minimap.
  • The Helldiver and the Exosuit both had a bug that sometimes caused them to take multiple blast damage, making things like automatic missiles too deadly. This has now been resolved.
  • Automatic enemy constellations that favored spawning more of certain Devastators types did not work and now function as they should. This means that sometimes when playing against the Automatons you will encounter more Devastators instead of other types of enemies.
  • We’ve improved the system that prevents the hellpod from getting close to large or important objects.
  • We fixed issues where the effective area around objects was much larger than intended.
  • We have reduced the number of objects that prevent hellpod control.
  • Note: This system is intended to prevent softlocks that could cause players to fall at key interaction points or end up in unintended places. We will continue to monitor the status of the system after the update to see if any additional adjustments are needed.
  • Fixed cases where the ground under some assets could be bombed, causing them to float.

Ballistic shield changes

  • The impact mesh has been slightly increased in size for more forgiveness
  • The shield positions have been changed so that less of the hell diver is visible
  • Fixed bug where parts of the helldiver became vulnerable while using the shield in first person

known problems

These are issues introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and not yet resolved.

  • The game may freeze if you pick up a snowball or throw back a grenade

Various issues with friend invites and cross-play

  • Cross-platform friend invitations may not appear in the Friend Requests tab.
  • Players cannot unfriend other players who are friends via the friend code.
  • Players cannot unblock players who were not previously in their friends list.
  • Players cannot befriend players with a Steam name shorter than 3 characters
  • Explosive weapon stats only include direct hit damage, but not explosive damage.
  • Explosions don’t break your limbs (except when you fly into a rock).
  • Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of each Defend mission.
  • Drowning in deep water while a Vitality Booster is equipped leaves Helldiver in a broken state.
  • Stratagem beam can attach to an enemy, but will deploy at its original location.
  • Some player customizations (such as title or body type) may be reset after restarting the game.
